A quiet Tuesday.
There’s a new instalment of the Sound Advice column that I share with Chris Dart up on Toronoist, featuring By Divine Right‘s ninth studio record, Organized Accidents. “While warm in tone and often seductively smooth in style, the record remains delightfully unpredictable, with chord progressions and looping structures that just love to trip and pull the rug out from under the listener.”
I also added a new piece to the collection of syndicated book reviews I am building on the CWILA blog: an in-depth look at Booty: Hurricane Jane and Typhoon Mary (The Mercury Press, 2007), a collaborative book of poetry by Jill Hartman and Brea Burton, by Ryan Fitzpatrick (author of Fake Math and 21st Century Monsters).
